North Sulawesi, FokusManado.com - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, opened the 2019 Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Startup and Business Summit held in the Megamas region, Manado, North Sulawesi, Thursday (10/31/2019) morning at around 10:30 pm.
In his remarks, Luhut said that the AIS Startup and the 2019 Business Summit are part of the collaboration of six island nations and 41 island nations which began last year.
"The aim is to mutually support economic development and public welfare. This activity is expected to strengthen cooperation among AIS Forum countries, "said Luhut.
On that occasion, Luhut also invited young people and the education community in North Sulawesi to conduct in-depth studies and studies on meteorology.
"I beg also, Mr. North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey and Chairman of North Sulawesi Legislative Council Andrei Angouw to encourage creative economy here. This is important, because Manado is a tourist destination. Not to mention that Manado is one of the six Primary International Port in Indonesia, and in the near future there will be an addition to the construction of a new airport in here, "added Luhut
Responding to this, Andrei Angouw expressed his readiness to give full support to boost the creative economy of the people of North Sulawesi.
"Considering that the creative economy is the work of creative humans, they will be more advanced in making product offerings to the public, especially if they have the facilities to make it happen," Angouw said during the activity
Angouw said, this creative economy will create jobs with many people expressing their ideas will create a lot of jobs and reduce unemployment it's same as reduce the number of criminal act .
"In addition, it will reduce crime even if the impact is not direct, but reducing the number of unemployed will also reduce the number of criminal acts that may occur." He said
Angouw said, North Sulawesi will be able to follow the development of the existing technological era so that it will create a creative society
"Competition in a business that will make the business itself more attractive to participate in it. so that it will create significant economic growth and accelerate development in North Sulawesi Sociaty.
